Some were good, some not so much, some would move on to other opportunities. As you can imagine, investing time and resources into someone only to have them not prove out, especially given the learning curve our demands require, is a painful experience. Enter Steve Stedman. We were having trouble with incorrect pageid errors only when running backup and restore operations on a certain file. I spent hours trying to resolve the issue to no avail. I ran across one of Steve’s blog posts in my research. His article emphatically stated to *NOT* do all the things I had just done. So I reached out to him to see if he could help. February 16, 2019 – Corruption Repair
We were in a bind, our clients are a manufacturing facility with 1000+ workers heavily reliant on their ERP system to run their operations. Their products are highly sensitive and require tracking each transaction for compliance purposes so this basically means manufacturing stops if the ERP stops…
And we had a major SQL DB failure. Almost 2 full days of production was lost, high cost, high pressure and high stress.
The hardware was not optimal, which didn’t help for time constraints and we were facing DBCC failures that just simply were not documented (or at least google had no results).
We scoured the web for hints and tricks to help solve this issue and came across stevestedman.com and submitted a request for consultation, not knowing what to expect.
Steve and Derrick were fantastic, they were able to pinpoint the issue within a very short timeframe and helps us get back up and running.
Their expertise and specialist knowledge in this area of database corruption is by far the best I have ever seen.

Stedman Solutions/Steve Stedman Review
Stedman Solutions/Steve Stedman saved our SQL, and so much more. Our network will forever be in his debt.
Fresh out of school, I took over our 15 workstations, 2-3 servers, and the small IT Roles at a small business. We quickly grew, and merged with another company, we became a very complicated, 100 workstation, 25 servers, all sorts of new security to deal with, and just plain overwhelmed. As we put the pieces together, the only puzzle we couldn’t solve was our SQL DB. We were at the point where we were getting 10 unexpected, inconsistent, errors and lockups. We needed to reboot our service right away.
Steve came in and stopped that on day one. Within the first couple days, he had a well thought out, well organized presentation, explaining all of the potential flaws we had in our settings and setup, and a plan to fix every one of them. On the server side, with his great product, DB Health Monitor. He built this program and he gives it out. Charges for his expertise, which is well worth every penny. He also advised us on new hardware which proved to improve performance even further. Pointed out every bottleneck and how to fix it. I have a good understanding of how hard drives work, as well as NAS and SAN, and how to pick a good one. Steve taught me a few things that changes the way I purchase NAS/SAN Devices. We are running on a Virtual machine with connected storage on a NAS Device. He advised on a new SAN, then he helped to find a few options to recommend, and explained why. This will improve my network with every upgrade I get in the future.
In the next couple days, after making changes, he utilized his program to show us the wait times. We went from an average of 6 million X (Whatever time measurement he was using) to 600,000, and less. It was more than noticeable on the user side too. Overnight we went from 20+ Complaints a day to 0, regarding this issue.

Stedman Solutions were no less than amazing!
We were in a major bind; we had corruption in a SQL Database and all kinds of finger pointing from my software and hardware vendors. From one of my vendors “ …here is a Microsoft paper on how to fix this error”. I was at the end of the rope.
The corruption had been occurring for an unknown period of time, then it completely died! (all the backups were corrupt for who knows how long). Steve and team went to work immediately and worked virtually non-stop until the problem was resolved.
We had no data loss and very little business time down.

Steve is the most reliable and efficient DBA I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He has bailed me out of number of SQL emergencies, and seems ready to drop everything to help his clients. I cannot say enough about his professionalism and work ethic. Steve is your SQL guy. I have been an IT solutions provider for over 25 years and I have worked with many professionals and Steve is one of the best. I had a client with an old SQL 2005 server and database with some major corruption. Before I came onboard, my client had been searching for a “SQL Professional” for almost a year working with a database that would surely not mount if the server was restarted. Steve Stedman came to the rescue and worked (almost non stop) until the database was usable. Steve kept me in the loop at all stages of the repair. I could not have asked for anyone better.
